Oh Etsy. Today I write about your woes. Well, more like my woes. As much goodness Etsy brings me it also brings me a headache. For the most part it is user friendly which I am very grateful for, but today it confounds me. I am beginning to dip my fingers in the "Custom" options and I seem to be hitting some walls. There is so much detail that goes into your own shop it can all be very overwhelming. I am the kind of person that wants instant gratification and with just a few clicks of the mouse i should get it. I forgot the part that you actually have to do work to make something succeed. But, I will not let it get me down. As long you stay passionate about what your working with you will eventually break through that wall. Not only do I have a ton of constant ideas rushing at me for what I want to keep adding to my shop, i am still learning as I go. So, here is a little bit of what i do have to offer in the time that i have figured Etsy out.
Baby Booties!:)

Custom made
Last week a customer contacted me and asked if I could recreate a hat from her childhood. Of course I totally said yes. I love doing custom items, makes them that much more personal. So anyways, she asked for a beanie with ear flaps that had a rainbow around it and rainbow braids. I had never done a hat in those colors before so I was pretty excited to start work on it. It turned out sooooo great! The rainbow braids are probably my favorite part of it. I just love the look of all those colors together. You can check it out here in my shop. Here are a couple pics to pick your interest:)

The sun is shining!
The sun is shinning today. And for Michigan, where it seems to be gray more days out of the year than sunny, its something to get excited about. And whenever the sun starts to shines I immediately get so many ideas for things I want to do and make. And today is no different. Since I am already starting on a hat for a customer I decided I would post some of the things I have made in the past. Every time I look at them I get countless ideas and a lot of inspiration, so I hope they do the same for you:)
~My friend Janell got married in July and for her wedding shower/wedding present I made her a blanket. This is all hand crocheted~
~Janell's sister Trisha also got married this year in May. For her wedding shower/wedding present I crocheted this blanket for her.~
Lots of my friends have gotten married in the past few years, and I wish I could have made a blanket for all of them, but unfortunately I did not learn how to crochet until a couple years ago. Maybe I could still do anniversary blankets?:)

keep your head warm
Ive been making hats lately. Lots of hats. Probably because its getting colder here and fall is pulling in full force which only reminds me of winter around the corner. Plus, hats are just to darn cute not to make. so many trendy styles and colors. I die. Here are a few of the ones I have been working on.
-Simple beanie with a brim-
-"The Slouch" Super trendy in Hollywood right now. Also one of my faves.-
-Another "Slouch". Serioiusly, these are so cute and comfy.-
-This beanie was inspired by a hat i saw at the Betsey Johnson store. Super cute.-

New hat!
Here is my latest creation. I call it The Aviator. Reminiscent of old fly boys flying their plains. Its made out of a chunky weight super soft and comfy acrylic yarn. This shade of blue really stood out to me and will be great for fall and the winter. I think it will take me from the mall to the slopes with no problem:) Hope you like it as much as i do!
I you do like it as much as i do, check it out in my shop:)
